1995: The Severnaya Weapons Facility is hit bya massive electro-magnetic pulse (EMP),
destroying every electronic component in thebase. Russian military claims it to have been an
accident, but the BritishSecret Service (MI6) discovered that the accident was not an accident at all.
The EMP was caused by a top-secret government satellite system, code-named GoldenEye.The
satellite detonates a nuclear explosion in the earths atmosphere, sending an EMP throughout a thirty
mile radius. They also discover that the weapons firing system has been taken and is in the hands of
Janus, the world's largest and most dangerous weapons dealing Syndicate. MI6 has ordered James
Bond to find, and stop
