During the 1970s, Island Records founder Chris Blackwell acquired GoldenEye from the Fleming estate. Soon after, Chris’s friends – many of them artists, writers and musicians from around the world – made their way to Jamaica to see GoldenEye for themselves. Because Fleming Villa didn’t have enough rooms for everyone, Chris began building new structures along the lagoon. He built a hut for himself, then for his mum, then a one, two and three bedroom villa. Each had its own style and vibe, and all were designed to be very private, enclosed in a lush jungle of tropical plants and trees. Chris furnished each with sexy outdoor showers and deep clawfoot tubs nestled between oversized palm leaves, airy verandas and kitchens. It’s these timeless qualities, paired with our selection of modern luxuries that will make your stay at GoldenEye’s original villas exceptional and lasting.

StrangeWays / Three Bedroom Ocean View

StrangeWays is the name of this three-bedroom villa, located on a bluff on the top of a cliff with sweeping oceanfront views of the Caribbean Sea. Stone steps, descending from the lush, tropical garden lead to a private swimming patio with direct access into the lagoon. The villa itself consists of a small compound. One structure is a master bedroom with living room. Two additional structures have one bedroom each. Yet another houses the kitchen. You might think this design – so unique and so private – would explain this villa’s name. In fact, StrangeWays references the mystical influences always at play on this magical island.
